Light at the End of the Tunnel

My Mantra is ‘Be Kind Always’. That does not mean letting others harm you. I have boundaries, good solid ones. As an older nurse and healer, I have made huge mistakes in keeping myself grounded. Binge-drinking alcohol and disordered eating helped me cope. All these destructive tools were there to help me heal. I grew up in a family that had a work-a-holic dad and a closet alcoholic mom. I am not resentful or angry; my parents loved me and wanted the best for me. They, just like me, had unhealthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety. When I was young and had stress and anxiety from school, friends, classmates, or family, I just went out and found lost golf balls, caught frogs or toads, walked in the woods, fished, fed ducks, rode my bike; the list went on. I never realized that I grounded and let all the negative energy dissipate. I healed and balanced myself in nature. As a child, where did you find peace and solitude? Finding that peace and solitude allows your mind, body, and spirit to renew and heal. Join me on my journey to balance.

“Allow nature’s peace to flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.”

– John Muir
